tonight i had a great time celebrating the take over of converse in hong kong, now what that means is, for the longest time, converse has been operated by a distributor in hong kong for years, and this upcoming year 2013, will the the time that converse headquarters takes back the operation, and yes tonight was the dinner party to celebrate that.
many familiar faces from converse and their working partners was present….here is Morgan giving the lowdown about the strategy behind everything. now you may be thinking, what does this have to do with me as a sneaker lover, or consumer.
the answer is simple, more resources put in this market, means more cool parties, events, music, lifestyle things to draw you closer to the converse brand, having a presence in HK means more lovely special projects and interesting things coming out of the converse camp.
here is stephanie sun, big mamma, recently married talk about how she just holds it down for converse marketing in this side of the world,
everyone attentively listening to what they have to say, matched with a great powerpoint that i couldn’t see.
like every converse event, they have little touches that are carefully put together that make it inherently very converse and its the small touches that really make converse such an amazing brand and company, warm and great, and really truly amazing.
look at this napkin, its my favorite, i mean, who comes up with this? super dope
amazingly cool napkinery.
here is the man of the hour, Ian Stewart, the man who used to be the head of marketing in greater china and south east asia, has now just become the global head of “jack purcell” well thats after he goes on a 3 week vacation…. all the best to you bro!
after the speeches was a very amazing dinner hosted by Linguini Fini,
another cool touch, a locker for people that came out to the event!!! nice touch…
congrats again to Converse really coming strong in this territory and looking forward to all the cool things that are coming up…
if anyone is really reading this, don’t forget about the poloroid idea i had,,,, give it some thought guys!

a few days ago, i had the privilege to meet with Florian Kaps, the founder and creator of “The Impossible Project” He is the one to single handedly save the Polaroid Factory from shutting down, It was so difficult that he named his company “the impossible project”
he told me the story about how he got started and i think its really amazing, a lot of conversations and persuading people, to make a long story short, Florian was invited to the closing ceremony of Polaroid’s film plant announcing the shut down of the plant, Along with his counterpart André Bosman, he scrounged up some euro’s to save the plant from shutting down, and the rest is history.
Using new development materials and new techniques, he brought back what was so close to extinction into full force.
He then teamed up with Jun – from Tokyo to make it global, also working with Nigo on some special edition film, the result is millions of packs of film sold and lots of happy people.
Florian is so cool, i brought him to Happy Film, the coolest store that sells film, to check out the scene, and also meet with Harlim, which is one of our good friends and amazing photographer from his company Glam Fab
speaking of Poloroid’s Harlim is going to be hosting his 8 x 10 Polaroid Exhibition and book launch starting August 10th!
today was a good day
